1. Who We Are

Orison Academy LLC (“Orison Academy”, “we”, “us”) is an online technology academy based at 5900 Balcones Drive Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731, United States. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you keep over it.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

• Account details: your name, email address and, optionally, a phone number.
• Enquiries: the content of messages you send through our contact form, by email, or by phone.
• Billing details: billing name, country and postal code. Card numbers are entered directly with our payment processor and never reach our servers.

Information created as you learn

• Course enrolments, lesson progress, quiz results, project submissions and certificates earned.
• Support history, so a different team member does not ask you the same question twice.

Technical information

• Device type, browser, approximate region (from IP address) and pages viewed. We use this to fix playback problems and improve our courses, not to build advertising profiles.

3. Why We Use It

• To give you access to the courses you bought and to record your progress and certificates.
• To take payment, issue receipts and handle refunds.
• To answer your questions and provide support.
• To send service messages (receipts, course updates, security notices) and, only with your consent, occasional news about new courses. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• To keep the platform secure and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.

4. What We Never Do

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share your learning data with employers or recruiters. We do not use your project submissions in marketing without asking you first, in writing.

5. Who We Share Data With

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who act only on our instructions: our payment processors, our email delivery provider, our video hosting and website hosting providers, and our analytics provider. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, and we will tell you unless the law forbids it.

6. International Transfers

Our systems are operated in the United States. If you are outside the US, your information will be transferred there and protected using appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required.

7. How Long We Keep It

• Account, enrolment and certificate records: while your account is open, then up to 24 months after your last activity.
• Invoices and tax records: 7 years, as required by US tax law.
• Support messages: 24 months.
• Analytics data: 14 months, in aggregated form wherever possible.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access and portability: ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Correction: have inaccurate details fixed.
• Deletion: ask us to erase your account and personal data, subject only to records we must keep for tax purposes.
• Objection and restriction: ask us to stop or limit a particular use, including profiling.
• Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from marketing at any time without losing course access.

Email info@orisonacademy.com with the subject “Privacy request” and we will respond within 30 days, free of charge. We will never restrict your service because you exercised a privacy right.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your cart, plus a small number of analytics cookies to understand which lessons cause learners to drop off. You can refuse or delete non-essential cookies in your browser settings, or through the cookie banner where shown, and still use every course you have purchased.

10. Security

We protect your data with encryption in transit (TLS), access controls limited to staff who need it, logged administrative access, and regular backups. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authorities promptly.

11. Children

Our courses are intended for learners aged 16 and over. Learners under 18 should enrol with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and we delete such data as soon as we become aware of it.

12. Changes and Contact
